I have sailed extensively in the San Francisco Bay, N and S Coastal CA, the Caribbean, Europe, and the South Pacific. Every day on the water is unique, exhilarating, mentally stimulating, and often challenging. Safety is the cornerstone of everything you do on or around water and the biggest compliment I can give is ‘I would be happy for you to take my family to sea on a sailboat’ - that is mastery!

Practical Competence of Skipper Rank
After the recent week in the BVIs with Mike Pearce, I feel confident on skippering a yacht by myself. We completed a few days with good sailing conditions, without engines. Setting up the mainsail and reefing the main sail to allow for strong winds and gusts. I also completed numerous anchors, buoy tie ups and covered navigation planning and adjustment during sail. Mike keeps you on your toes and continues to ask questions during the days sailing, but is also great to answer questions with clear explanations.
