I grew up on the water and worked on a tug boat in the Pacific Northwest in high school. I began sailing in college and have been for over 20 years. As a former Marine Corps Officer and Naval Aviator I am well versed in effective training techniques. In 2012 my wife and I lived aboard our cruising sailboat in the Sea of Cortez for four months. Whether you are interested in learning the basics or have aspirations of a cruising adventure I can help prepare you for what's ahead. Practical Competence of Skipper Rank
At the end of a difficult business trip in San Diego, I wanted to get on the water. In my path to be a competent sailor and navigator, I saw a great match with Jason, given that we both love sailing and flew military jets. I made a great choice. I was able to accomplish my goal by furthering my sailing resume, but more importantly, learned great techniques from a very accomplished Captain. Jason's approach to teaching made the afternoon valuable and enjoyable. I am a better sailor for having found Lucky Sol, and look forward to my next San Diego visit to get back on the water. Jason was very friendly and we had two great days, out on the water. I feel now confident to handle a vessel on my own, to take family and friends out and have them be secure in my ability as a Skipper. I fully recommend Jason and will sail with him again, on my next visit to San Diego.
