Level V Captain Rank Chief Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Rated 4.94/5 by 18 students
I am a long time resident of the Georgian Bay Area; started sailing almost two decades ago. My interest was sparked aboard a small Sunfish, and grew as I progressed to trying all types of sailboats over the years, from small Hobie Cats to a 45 foot Catamaran in the BVI’s. My current vessel KRONOS, (a Beneteau Oceanis 370) calls Meaford, Ontario it’s home port. I spend my sailing season enjoying day trips, weekend adventures around the Bay, and extended summer cruises throughout the North Channel. I am a NauticEd Captain Rank level V Instructor. My career as an Advanced Care Paramedic speaks to my focus on safety, and years as a flight Paramedic honed a keen awareness of weather patterns. If you are looking to get started on the water, want to brush up your skills, or set your sights to the Deep Blue, I would love to assist you with these goals. Georgian Bay Sailing Coach.

Collin is a patient, thoughtful and skilled instructor. He does an excellent job of keeping lessons fun while working teaching specific skills and general seamanship. His boat is well maintained and comfortable for long hours on the water. I can't recommend him highly enough. A+

Collin was very through and systematic in assessing each element of the rubric. Throughout the day Collin was friendly and easy to be with. His boat was perfect for the instruction and testing and the 2 hour sails between Meaford and Thornbury were just the right length for the examination. I learned a lot even though I had substantial prior experience. Collin is a talented and patient instructor. Altogether it was a great day on the water.

My wife and I can't say enough good things about Collin. He was professional from the time we initially contacted him, flexible about what to teach to ensure we were getting what we needed, and very knowledgeable, confident and competent about sailing. He was patient with us, taking the time to talk us through things. He helped us translate the theory of sailing all boats into techniques we could do with our abilities and boat to optimize our sailing. He was fun and friendly to be with, which was great as we had long days in the sun together. I had barely any sailing experience when I met Collin - just a half-dozen, 2 hour jaunts. I feel like after 3 days I am a competent and confident skipper of our 34' vessel, ready to put into practice everything he taught and very excited and ready for the next stage of my sailing education with NauticEd. Thanks Collin!

Collin was great but his boat was better. Collin is very easy to work with and has the knowledge to get you going on the water.

Collin is a great instructor. Even though we used my small boat instead of his, I gave it 5 stars as he gave me tips on how to maximize its potential. I learned a lot in my few hours with him. He handled my mistakes (and there were many) with encouragement and guidance. We were able to practice skills I had never tried before. He showed me how to push my boat to the maximum speed and heel. I will certainly have Collin advise my progress through the sail training.

I really enjoyed the day on the water with Colin for the SLC assessment. Colin was very knowable and gave clear and easy to follow instructions. The weather also cooperated which made the process more enjoyable.
