I’ve been sailing the Texas Gulf Coast and Caribbean since purchasing my first sailboat, backed by an Associate of Science in Engineering Design.
I’m completing my NauticEd Captain Rank, with SLC and Catamaran endorsements coming in early 2025. These credentials and my extensive hands-on experience enable me to provide tailored, comprehensive sailing instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.

When training in the Austin, Texas area, you'll be learning aboard a well-equipped 27' Pearson monohull, perfect for mastering essential sailing skills in a hands-on environment. This classic sailboat provides a stable and responsive platform, ideal for beginners and experienced sailors alike.
Notes: In addition to traveling to the BVI for custom sailing instruction, I offer year-round training in the Austin, Texas area, where you can learn on beautiful Lake Travis. I'm also available for hire across the USA and the Caribbean, bringing expert sailing instruction to the location of your choice. Whether you're local or looking for instruction in a dream destination, I'll work with you to create a tailored learning experience that aligns with your goals.

Emily is so passionate about sailing and it truly reflects how she teaches. Clear explanations on what we were doing, and if she felt I didn’t do the maneuver to a 100% she would give me excellent feedback and have me redo it. Her approach and knowledge is at another level. she honestly explained to me how she would not allow me to go to certain areas of the boat and why. She would adapt methods of sailing to my physical abilities. She listens to the student without judgement.
Emily was great from getting the charter organized to ensuring we had opportunities to practice, improve, and hone our skills during the week. Feedback was clear, consistent, fair, and directive with suggestions and examples given for demonstrating desired skills in subsequent days/exercises.
