To gain a Rank, take the courses listed and log enough time in your logbook to reach a Level. You gain a verified competence note on your certificate when an Instructor/Assessor deems you competent to the skills associated to that Rank.

The Mediterranean and the Seychelles (and others as global licensing requirements change) require a specific sailing license (not just a certificate). The SLC is accepted globally by port authorities and yacht charter companies. To learn more, tap the orange SLC area.
Off shore is serious business. You can complete training for Offshore Captain at anytime but until you log at least 50 days of experience in your logbook (Level III), your certificate will recognize Advanced Skipper Training.

Upgrading to a Catamaran on a sailing vacation is easier than you think. As long as you have plenty of large monohull experience, you can do a one-day Catamaran Endorsement with a NauticEd school and take the online Catamaran Sailing Confidence eCourse.

Typically, a yacht charter company will require significant experience on your resume to charter a yacht. Thus, Level III is a realistic number whereby you will be accepted. The Bareboat Charter Master Rank therefore requires a minimum of Level III
