Displays on the certificate
if the student has been
assessed as competent
on-the-water under the
American Nationa standards
If an instructor has done an assessment, the determination
of competence will be listed here. Practical competence
will not be listed as higher than the student’s theory
courses Rank. i.e. the student must pass the appropriate
theory courses to receive the recognition of practical
competence. For higher Ranks like BBCM and Captain,
the student must log sufficient time to Level III to be fully
awarded the associated Practical Competence.
Displays the Rank of the student and the Level. Rank and Level are a combination of theory course work and on-the-water logged experience.
Level I = 10 days, II = 25 days, III = 50 days,
IV = 100 days, V = 200 days
Rank is courses passed plus Level. The student must have Level to achieve Rank. The software
automatically determines the Rank and Level of the students as they pass courses and enter experience in their logbook.
Listed if the student is Catamaran Qualified via sufficient
catamaran sailing experience and passing the Catamaran
online course OR Catamaran Endorsed via a practical
on-the-water competence skills assessment. VHF Endorsement
is issued if the student has passed the VHF module.

Certificate of Nautical Mastery
depending on the instructor’s assessment
and student’s logged boating experience.
